RightScale Compute Recap
The expanded two-day RightScale Compute conference kicked off in San Francisco on April 25 with an opening keynote by Forrester analyst James Staten who shared data and insights on the pace of the cloud market. RightScale CEO Michael Crandell followed with the State of the Cloud, reporting the results of a March 2013 survey conducted by RightScale that includes data and analysis on cloud adoption by enterprises and SMBs in a dozen industries. The third keynote featured Richard Kaufmann, VP at Samsung SDS America, who revealed the innovative hybrid cloud architecture that his company has deployed to deliver highly scalable and responsive applications around the globe.
The conference also featured a Q&A session with three RightScale customers who discussed their business challenges and how they were able to overcome them through the strategic planning and management of their cloud infrastructures. And in the Future of Cloud panels, representatives from the major cloud providers discussed and debated the future of applications in the cloud and the future of IT organizations in the cloud.

RightScale Compute Day 1 Overview
Day 1 of the RightScale Compute 2013 conference kicked off with a sold-out crowd and three keynote presentations from Forrester analyst James Staten, RightScale CEO Michael Crandell, and RightScale customer Richard Kaufmann of Samsung SDSA.

RightScale Compute Day 2 Overview
Day 2 of the RightScale Compute 2013 conference featured presentations by three RightScale customers who were then joined onstage by RightScale CEO Michael Crandell and RightScale CTO Thorsten von Eicken for a discussion with attendees on topics ranging from disaster recovery and hybrid cloud implementations to unique cloud provider offerings and planned product enhancements for RightScale.
